What to expect and Rates
Whether you’re looking to pack in some extra equipment for a backcountry hunting or fishing trip or just want to add some luxury items to a backpacking trip (especially with young kiddos!), let us help you lighten your load. We offer self-guided llama pack rentals which includes llamas and all llama gear. Each llama will come with its own halter, lead rope, saddle, 2 panniers, tie out stake, and llama cookies.
Llama orientation course
When you pick up or when we meet you to drop off the llamas, we require all first time renters to attend a 2-hour llama handling and orientation course. We will teach you about basic llama behavior and care and go over all the llama gear with you. We will teach you how to saddle, lead, and trailer the llamas. We will teach you about grazing and watering needs of the llamas. We will also teach you about packing and hanging panniers to distribute weight and general trail etiquette when leading llamas.
